Current Paid Positions
Staff Class Coordinators
Imagine getting paid to sit in on BDA classes and workshops! We need a pool of reliable, professional people who are interested in substituting for BDA's regular staff on a per diem basis. This is a wonderful opportunity for students, self-employed creative professionals, and others who'd like to be close to the digital community and make a little extra cash now and then. The ideal candidates are available on short notice, familiar with Mac and PC operating systems, and interested in the digital arts. To be considered for this position, please e-mail your resume and cover letter to info@boulderdigitalarts.com.
CU Student Ambassador
Boulder Digital Arts (BDA) is currently hiring for the position of a CU Student Ambassador. This paid, part-time position would entail:
- Helping BDA understand which on-campus events we should have a presence.
- Determine what events BDA can hold to reach out to CU students; and help us determine what BDA could bring to the table.
- Helping build awareness about BDA on the CU campus.
- Networking with fellow students/student groups to get the word out about BDA.
Founded in 2004, BDA is a resource for creative professionals working in photography, video, web apps/design/marketing, and more. We feel that our many classes and workshops, along with our wide variety of social/networking opportunities (many of which are free), could be a very nice addition to supplement the education students are receiving at CU. Our classes and workshops are very affordable, and generally take place on one night, or one day, so they don't impact student's busy schedules.
Basically, we're looking for a CU student to be what Malcolm Gladwell refers to in his book "The Tipping Point" as a Connector. This position would require between 5 to 10 hours per week, and would pay $10 an hour; the hours can be scheduled with a lot of flexibility. The selected candidate would also have the opportunity to take a selection of BDA classes and workshops at no charge; as well as the possibility of additional income via specific commissions on some of our programs. If you feel like you'd be the right connector for this job, please email your resume and cover letter to info@boulderdigitalarts.com; no phone calls please.
Current Volunteer Positions
Event Coordinators
We are currently looking for a volunteers to work with our staff to help in the organization of our Digital Salons and other events, which occur 3 or 4 times a year. There is typically a great turnout, and an exciting evening featuring a great mix of digital art presentations/demonstrations, screenings of short videos, lots of refreshments, and schmoozing with fellow digital professionals. We're looking for someone who has a keen interest in the digital arts, and wants to help put together fun evenings with dynamic presentations. To be considered for this position, please e-mail your resume and cover letter to info@boulderdigitalarts.com.
Salon Coordinator
BDA is looking for the right person to program and coordinate our Digital Salon series. This person will be responsible for maintaining the high quality of past Digital Salons. Each Digital Salon is a mix of community networking and presentations by one or more digital artist who is using digital technology in innovative, creative and artistic ways. Our Digital Salons are focused more on the artistic and aesthetic use of technology than the technology itself. To be considered for this position, please e-mail your resume and cover letter to info@boulderdigitalarts.com.
