Adobe Photoshop Hands-On Intensive

Characteristics Of This Class:

Learn the essential skills you need to create powerful images with Adobe Photoshop, the industry standard for digital photo editing and graphic design. This class will teach you competent color correcting and enhancing, retouching, compositing, and more.

Because Photoshop is so complex, we'll start by asking what you want to learn and focusing on those aspects of the program. We'll cover the essentials like the tools, interface, and features, dive deeply into layers and selections, and sprinkle the day with easter eggs and power-user techniques. You'll walk away knowing how to use Photoshop effectively.

  • Using and customizing the Photoshop workspace
  • Basic painting and brush tools
  • Palettes, menus, and tool options

  • Choosing the right format for the media
Layers:

  • The QuickMask feature
Putting it all together:
  • Implementing a Photoshop workflow
  • Other uses for Photoshop
  • Resources for future learning

Presented in Adobe CS6, but most of what is taught will apply to earlier versions of the program.

We recommend students bring their lunch in order to participate in the discussions that will occur during the lunch break.

Who Should Take This:

Quick learners, very tech-savvy folks, and those who have played with Photoshop a little and want to get more involved. If you prefer a more relaxed pace or you've never opened Photoshop before, we recommend taking Getting Started with Adobe Photoshop first.
