Adobe Photoshop for the Web

Adobe Photoshop offers designers a rich assortment of editing tools with which to create compelling (and fast-loading!) imagery for the web. This workshop covers a wide range of uses for Photoshop in the web graphics workflow with an emphasis on the Save for Web dialog.

You'll learn how to optimize graphics and photographs so they download quickly in a web browser. We'll discuss the why and how of image slicing, and go over practical techniques for designing layouts, backgrounds, navigation bars, and buttons in Photoshop.
This workshop will cover:
  • Making web page backgrounds
  • Creating transparent graphics for the web
  • Making navigation graphics
  • Preparing photographs for the web
  • Laying out a web page comp
  • Slicing

Presented in Adobe CS6, but most of what is taught will apply to earlier versions of the program.


Who Should Take This:

Aspiring web designers who want to optimize their web graphics skills. You should take Getting Started with Adobe Photoshop first if you've never opened Photoshop before.

She has recorded so many Photoshop video training courses for Lynda that she has her own URL there Her books include How to Wow: Photoshop for the Web, Photoshop Hands On Training for the Web, and the Complete Course books for both Photoshop and Elements. She has written many articles for Macworld, Photoshop User, and Mac Design. She's currently authoring Adobe's Photoshop Certified Expert Exam and beta testing new versions of Photoshop.
