FREE Boulder Digital Arts Open House
We invite you to join us for an evening of food, fun, fabulous art, and free presentations by experts in their fields of UI/UX (user interface/experience) and art. Boulder Digital Arts and CodeCraft are delighted to host our 2017 Summer Open House, showcasing the Dona Laurita Gallery exhibition and featuring two informative presentations. This free event is open to the public, and we invite you to bring along a friend or two as well!
This summer has served as the inagural "Last Fridays" series of social events, where a variety of venues in Boulder open their doors to showcase special exhibits on the last Friday of each month. BDA is pleased to be a part of this series and we encourage you to watch for other Last Fridays events throughout the rest of the year.
We'll serve beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages and light hors d'oeuvres.
Schedule of activites:
- 5:00pm - 8:00pm - Open House, explore the gallery, enjoy complimentary food & beverage
- 6:15pm - 6:35pm - The Importance of UX in the Business World Today (Classroom #1) - The field of UX is a rapidly growing industry in the world today. In every company, not just in tech, UX experts are a necessary bridge between businesses and their customers. The job of UX researchers and designers is to identify the full scope of a user's experience when interacting with a brand or product and offer solutions that will increase the overall satisfaction for users while also increasing engagement with the brand, business, or product. In this 15-20 minute presentation, you will learn a bit more about why UX is a valuable tool as well as gain insight into our UX programs and how they fill this important niche.
- 6:45pm - 7:05 pm - Art: A Personal and Powerful Social Tool (Classroom #3) - Please join us for an engaging presentation with artists from the Dona Laurita Gallery on the topic of Art as a Personal and Powerful Social Tool. Several artists showing at BDA will be speaking about their current work as a powerful tool not only for themselves personally but also creating works as a strong reflection and call for action on the political and social issues that we are faced with currently in the US and beyond. The topics range from immigration, culture, social justice to personal transformation all within the beautifully skilled digital medium. Boulder Digital Arts is pleased to have this unique pairing of fine art and state of the art technology with a local art gallery showing award winning local and national artists.
