Music Production with Ableton Live
What You'll Learn
This hands-on class provides a creative environment to learn the basics of music production in Ableton Live and will leave you with a broad understanding of the techniques involved in music in DJing, remixing, and producing music within Ableton Live. This class will give you the tools you need to create your own music, DJ a live performance, or remix one of your favorite songs. It covers a wide range of topics covering basic audio recording, midi recording, mixing and mastering.
Whether you are just getting into music production or you are a seasoned vet, this class will show you the basics behind music production with Ableton and give you the tools you need to express yourself through music. You'll learn the basics of how to build beats, bass lines, melodies and vocal elements into a unique original production. You'll learn to DJ and perform your songs in a live setting using the Ableton Live platform. After completing this class, you will have the tools you need to start making your own music. Dive deep into the exciting world of Ableton Live and start expressing yourself through music!
Because this is a hands-on production class, all students MUST have a computer. This class is a BYOL (bring your own laptop) class. However, if you don't have a computer, please email us about renting an iMac for the class ($20). This class is both for Mac and PC users. You will need to have an Ableton account and have downloaded the software BEFORE coming to the class. Ableton Live offers demo versions so if you do not have a full license, download the demo. Email us if you need assistance with this. A basic royalty-free sample library of pre-recorded music is provided to all Ableton students to work off of and use.

What to Expect
Our instructor will provide music clips and content for training purposes throughout the day, and there will be time to work on your own content at the end of the day. So, if you have already created some music content, bring it along! If you haven't, don't worry, it is NOT necessary.

Music is universal which is why this class is geared towards appealing to all audiences - whether you’re a seasoned vet in Pro Tools who wants to learn this new innovative software, and/or a hobbyist looking to take your skills to the next level. All skill levels are welcome!

With 5+ years of music production and recording engineering knowledge, Tayler D Bledsoe has a wide range of knowledge in the music world. She runs a local project studio here in Boulder with credits on MHSM Records, BORN Records, Gravitas Recordings, and various vocal features. With Bolder Beats launching in 2018, Bledsoe hopes to provide a music school environment that dives deep into electronic music production and beat making and strives to teach children STEM through the arts. Sightings: you may have seen her in American Idol Season 9 or playing a venue under her vocalist/producer moniker, Gioto.
