Wanted to drop a quick update in case anyone else with a G30 540i is putting off dealing with that brake wear warning light like I was for weeks because honestly the idea of dropping over three grand at the dealer for what is basically a consumable part just wasn’t sitting right with me but I finally found a spot up near Al Quoz that came recommended by a guy in my building who’s got an M5 and they got me sorted with some ATE pads and sensors and even swapped out the fluid because it was looking more like coffee than brake fluid if I’m being honest, the whole process was smooth and they knew exactly how to handle the electronic parking brake service mode without tripping any fault codes which was my biggest fear going anywhere other than AGMC, I actually stumbled across a site while I was doing my paranoid middle of the night research that had some decent info on the differences between the M Sport brakes and the standard ones and it was like check this out because it actually explained why the sensors on these things are so sensitive compared to older BMWs, anyway the pedal feels solid again and the light is off and I’ve got a couple thousand dirhams still in my pocket so I’m calling it a win, just glad I don’t have to see that orange triangle every time I start the car anymore.
