Yes, tempo traveller is safe for winter Manali trips, but with important considerations. The vehicle has advanced safety features including Hill Assist, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), ABS, and strong grip tires. However, for December-January when Rohtang Pass is closed and Manali receives heavy snowfall, we recommend:

    (1) Booking only if you’re experienced with hill travel or traveling with our experienced drivers who know winter mountain driving,
    (2) Carrying snow chains (we provide on request for ₹1,000),
    (3) Avoiding travel during active snowfall days,
    (4) Checking weather forecasts 48 hours before departure.

Most families successfully complete winter Manali trips in Tempo Traveller- the powerful engine handles icy slopes well, and triple AC doubles as a heater. For peak snow months, consider Shimla instead (safer road conditions) or wait until Mid February when conditions improve. You can book a tempo traveller or Urbania Van with a reliable Tempo traveller company in Chandigarh.
