Many gardeners have the question of whether New Jersey Tea fits in the native plant gardens and have answered this as yes since they will attract pollinators and will grow with minimal care. When you plant New Jersey Tea Ceanothus Americanus it will have clusters of white flowers that will attract bees and butterflies. Its naturalized habitat is also shrubby hence it fits in borders or naturalized beds. The tea plant is a drought resistant indigenous plant, which minimizes the amount of watering required to maintain the exotic ornamental plants. Have you thought of using it to maintain such local ecosystems as helped by pollinators and other useful insects in your garden?
