I recently had to pay for some specialized medical equipment for my grandmother, and I was surprised to see how expensive the final bill was. It got me thinking about how the government handles the tax on essential healthcare services and medicine for the elderly who are on a fixed pension.

I want to make sure we weren’t overcharged by the local pharmacy or the private clinic we visited last week. Does anyone here know which items are VAT exempt in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors currently? Any help would be appreciated.
