Our WordPress site is at the stage where plugins alone are not enough. We need it to talk to a CRM, a payment gateway, and a booking system, and later we want a client dashboard on top of it. That means real API work, not just installing connectors.
Until now, one freelancer handled WordPress and another handled the backend. The problem is that nobody owns the full picture. When a sync fails, each side points at the other, and fixes take days instead of hours. So the plan now is to hire dedicated WordPress developers who understand both the WordPress side and custom API development and who can stay on the project long-term.
Has anyone worked with EmizenTech for this? They offer dedicated WordPress developers and have 12+ years of experience with custom software, so the model looks like a fit, but we would like to hear how it worked out in real projects.
A few things we are trying to figure out:
What hiring model worked best for ongoing WordPress and API work: hourly, monthly dedicated, or project-based?
How do you check that a developer has actually built API integrations before and not just installed plugins?
Did you get one team for both WordPress and backend, or did you end up managing two vendors anyway?
What happened after launch: documentation, support, and fixes when an API changed?
The goal is to end up with one dedicated team that owns the whole integration, so the choice we make now needs to hold up for the next few years.
