Picked up an old Discovery 4 for the weekend desert runs and the thing just threw a suspension fault before I even left the city

Thought I was being clever grabbing a 2014 Discovery 4 HSE from a guy in Mirdif who was upgrading to the new Defender, the price was right and I figured the old TDV6 with the proper service history would be a solid workhorse for camping trips without the complexity of the newer Ingenium engines, but I literally didn’t even make it to the Al Ain road onramp before the dashboard lit up with an amber suspension warning and the truck decided to drop to the bump stops while I was sitting at the signal near Mushrif Park. Managed to limp it home after restarting a few times but now I’m kicking myself because I let my excitement get the better of me and I skipped the one thing everyone on the Land Rover forums tells you never to skip out here. The seller had a binder full of receipts from a garage in Sharjah but looking closer they’re mostly just oil changes and brake pads, nothing about the air compressor rebuild or the control valve blocks which are basically a ticking clock in this climate. I’ve been reading through some old threads where people said a proper Dubai Land Rover Certified Car Inspection would have caught a weak compressor by measuring the fill time and checking for slow leaks in the struts, and now I’m sitting here wondering if I just bought a very nice looking stationary object or if I can get this sorted before the real summer heat turns the interior into a sauna. Anyone else been dumb enough to buy one of these without a specialist check and actually fixed the suspension without having to sell a kidney or should I just bite the bullet and take it to someone who knows these air systems inside out.

A Discovery 4 suspension fault and Globe SIM registration issues (new.globe.com.ph.simreg) both show how a system can look fine on the surface but fail when a critical backend component isn’t properly verified before real use.
