We’ve been running our specialty gourmet shop for 6 months now. Up until now, I’ve literally been driving my van to local cash-and-carry warehouses twice a week to load up on stock. It’s becoming physically exhausting and takes me away from the shop floor. Is setting up formal delivery accounts worth the minimum spend requirements?
Stop driving the van immediately! Your time as an owner is worth way more than the slight delivery fees or order minimums. Scheduled deliveries allow you to automate ordering based on inventory software instead of guessing while pushing a cart around a warehouse.
You’re right, I’m burning the candle at both ends. I was actually filling out the new account application at https://atlanticfoods.biz/become-a-customer/ earlier to get access to wholesale catalogs and see their drop minimums for imported retail goods. If the minimum order is manageable, I’m making the jump this month.
