Art of Modeling
Art of Modeling creates unique figure drawing opportunities:
• Weekly Figure Drawing at the NoBo Art Center, Mondays 1-3 pm & Tuesdays 6:30-8:30pm (nude, short poses, 2-20 minutes)
• Twice a Month Long Pose Figure Drawing/Painting at the NoBo Art Center, 2nd & 4th Sundays 1-4 pm (nude, 1 three hr pose)
• Annual Boulder Arts Week Figure Drawing Marathons at the Spark’s theater, Saturday 1-5:15pm (4 nude models, 2 at a time, first two in short poses, second two in a 40 min and a 1 hr pose)
• Yearly Figure Drawing Retreats to Jamaica
Art of Modeling co-hosts figurative art exhibits with the NoBo Art District
Art of Modeling books fine arts models for classes at area colleges, art schools, art centers, informal drawing groups, private workshops and individual artists
Art of Modeling trains new models in the practice
Art of Modeling is a free resource for learning more about the profession by posting dozens of gleaned articles about fine arts modeling, listing books written about the topic & has published it’s own reference manual (for sale) titled The Other Side of the Easel: A Manual for the Beginning Fine Arts Model
Art of Modeling is an informal association/organization of fine arts models in the Boulder/Denver/Fort Collins metro areas that aims to promote the artistic profession of fine arts modeling. We publish artist & model codes of conduct in attempts to standardize the etiquette pertaining to utilization of models, require a rate of pay that is equitable to profession, and provide opportunities for models to build community
