BDA OnDemand FAQs

Who is BDA?

Since 2004, BDA has provided affordable, high-impact training in the creative digital arts with an emphasis on practical skills. Our instructors are industry professionals, so they really understand the subject they're teaching and keep up with the latest tools, technologies and techniques!

What's so special about BDA classes?

Probably the most important thing to know about our classes are that we teach practical skills and very little theory. You can take one of our classes, and then start using your new skills right away. Our instructors don't pad their classes with fluff - it's all substance!

What's the difference between BDA's online classes and their in-person classes?

Many of BDA's in-person classes are professionally recorded in high-definition video and edited to make for a valuable learning experience for those out-of-town, and not able to attend in-person. In addition, we also offer many niche subjects that are taught specifically for our online delivery platform.

Do I have to be online when I watch the videos I purchase?

The coolest thing about BDA online classes is you can watch them anywhere! Your purchases can be streamed or downloaded. If you choose to download the program, you don't have to be anywhere near the internet! Feel free to put the classes on your various mobile devices, so you can view them while flying in an airplane, or riding the bus to work!

Why should I pay for your videos when there are free videos on YouTube?

Great question! We've been teaching students for 10 years now, and we think we do it pretty well. Our instructors are top-notch; they know their subjects, and they LOVE teaching. Our classes have been crafted to give you the information you need without all the stuff you don't. You can certainly get TONS of information on the internet; some of it's good, some of it's not so good. The old phrase “you get what you pay for” comes to mind; we feel we are offering a quality product at a fair price, and we honestly think you will get your money's worth. And you know what? If you purchase a class and don't agree; we'll give you your money back!

Will the videos work on my mobile device/smartphone?

Absolutely! This is the 21st century, and you NEED to be able to watch content like this on the go; everything you purchase here can be downloaded onto your mobile device - iPads, smartphones, etc, so you can watch literally anywhere, without a wireless signal!

How long are the videos?

The majority of our videos are approximately two hours long; some are shorter, some are longer. All classes on our website list their specific running length, but be sure to remember that one of the cool things about our classes is that they are downloadable so you don't have to worry about watching it all in one sitting. You can stop at any point and pick up later right where you left off (or watch again if you prefer a review!). Most videos also have extensive chapters so you can easily navigate to the different parts of the class. When you're streaming our videos, the chapters are links, just below the video that will jump you to that point in the video. If you download the video, you can reference the chapters with a button, just below the download buttons. This can be printed, emailed, or whatever way you want to reference them for offline use!

What's included?

When you purchase an OnDemand program you get access to the video (both streaming and download) as well as any hand-outs or class support materials (in a downloadable .zip file). Each video is available in two formats; one full-quality HD (1280x720) and another smaller file that is suitable for mobile devices such as tablets or smartphones.

Is there navigation?

Similar to a DVD, most of our videos offer chapters, to make it much easier for you to find just the information you need, or be able to find where you left off - instantly.

The video won't play on my iPad or iPhone

Some older mobile devices including can only play our “smaller” formatted videos so if you have trouble with the "large" videos try the smaller version. Each program is available in two formats (see “what's included” above).

How do I put the videos I've downloaded onto my iPhone or iPad?

This varies somewhat based on the generation of your iPhone or iPad (and what version of iOS). Generally speaking, you can "press and hold" on the file you wish to download (either the large or small version of the downloadable video) and then choose the "download linked file" option.

I'd like to get training in-person, but we don't have anyone in our town that can do it. What are our options?

BDA has been offering custom training for many years; we can provide in-person or online training at our training facility, or we can travel to your company's location. Please contact us with your needs, and we'll work with you to come up with a curriculum that is not only cost-effective, but also perfectly suited to your company's specific needs.
