Adobe Photographer Workflow Hands On - Lightroom & Photoshop
What You'll Learn
This is the perfect hands-on introduction to the incredible power of organizing and editing images with industry-standard Adobe tools. In this full-day course you'll learn how to use Adobe Lightroom with Adobe Photoshop - these two products do it all! You will be immersed in a professional workflow for cataloging and organizing your images with Adobe Lightroom, as well as editing them to bring out their full potential - ready to publish or print - with Adobe Photoshop.
What's Covered
The Lightroom - Photoshop workflow begins with comprehensive portfolio organization tools and processes in Lightroom. This class will cover:
- Importing Images
- Organizing your archive
- JPG vs. RAW workflow differences, pros and cons
- Using keywords for organization
- Rating images
- Groupings
- Filters, searches and collections
- Exporting for screen, print, web and presentation
Lightroom and Photoshop's first, and most important editing tool is Adobe Camera Raw (called the Develop Module in Lightroom). We'll cover the following techniques using this tool:

Next we will dive into Photoshop to continue refining our images with this powerful tool. Using Photoshop we will:
- Masks and selections

- Master sharpening workflow
- Text
- Composite images

- Layers, modes, blending, and compositing
Don't worry, if any (or all) of this terminology is intimidating. Throughout this course you'll be introduced to these concepts in a friendly way and will be able to apply all of these new techniques easily to enhance your own projects.
Which Version of Adobe Lightroom Will Be Covered
This class uses the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic. This is the most fully featured version. It is the computer desktop version, not the mobile one (Lightroom).
Computer Requirement
This is a hands-on class where you'll "learn by doing" - therefore you'll need a computer (Mac or PC). If you need any particular software installed, that will be detailed below. Not all programs require special software so if there isn't any detailed listed below you will only need a computer with an up-to-date web browser.
If you would like to take your class work and sample projects home, please be sure to bring a Mac compatible portable drive with 4GB of free space.
Adobe Creative Cloud
This class will be presented from the latest version of the Adobe Creative Cloud. If you are using your own computer for the class, it is important that you have the latest version installed! Adobe offers a free 7-day trial of the Creative Cloud.
Who Should Take This
If you are a serious photographer at any level, pro, enthusiast or hobbyist, you want a coherent image processing and organizing workflow. Adobe’s Photography Plan is all of that and more. You’ll be set to begin the workflow you need in a professional manner. If you need more hands-on time after this class, consider taking the full dayAdobe Lightroom Hands-On and the full day Adobe Photoshop Hands-On.

Customer Comments
As someone with a cursory knowledge of Photoshop (learned it in the late 90's and haven't used it much over the years :), and little to no knowledge of Lightroom, this course was the perfect depth of information. I left with enough understanding to begin using Lightroom right away, and without feeling overwhelmed by it, as well as when to use Photoshop instead. I also had a computer issue the night before and Kristina was able to get me set up with a rental on the morning of the course, and I really appreciate her doing that on such short notice! Thank you all!KyraRead All Comments
