The BDA Arapahoe Studio is located at Arapahoe Avenue and Range Street in Boulder (approximately 52nd and Arapahoe) on the northeast corner of Range and Arapahoe. The building is .6 miles east of Foothills Parkway, and .25 miles west of 55th Street. Range is the street that is between the stoplights at Conestoga and Commerce. Classroom/Theater
This versatile space is used primarily as the classroom for Boulder Digital Arts training but can be configured as a theater for screenings and a gathering room for other events. Our classroom/theater features:
- High definition video projection with 11' 16x9 format projection screen
- Digital 5.1 surround sound audio system
- Four built-in high-definition LCD monitors located throughout the room that can either mirror the projected video or display an alternative signal
- 5 Macintosh workstations with 20" LCD monitors
- Integrated video system with live web streaming capabilites
- A wide range of audio/video connectivity including HDMI, VGA and analog component video
- Comfortable chairs and custom-built desks
- Accomodates 32 people in the classroom configuration or 50 people in theater configuration
The classroom/theater is available for rent starting at $450 for a half-day and $600 for a full-day. A/V staff is available for an additional $25 per hour. Please contact Bruce Borowsky for with any questions or to make a reservation.
Digital Lab Program
Our Digital Lab Program allows BDA members to use fully-loaded, state-of-the-art Macintosh computers to work on their projects or extend their learning. The digital lab is available Monday - Friday from 1pm to 9pm. Reservations are highly recommended; though drop-ins are okay if there's availability Feel free to call or email Kira Woodmansee to make a reservation. Cost is only $8 hour, with a one-hour minimum. Please note that equipment rentals are subject to 8.16% sales tax. All of our lab computers meet or exceed the following specifications:

We recommend you use an external storage device (hard drive, USB thumb drive, etc.) since the hard drives on the computers themselves are "cleaned" on a regular basis. Boulder Digital Arts provides lab users with a MiniDV capture/recording device, headphones and common connection cables. We invite you to bring your own hardware if you have a particular need.
BDA staff are only available to troubleshoot any basic computer problems but will not be able to assist you with software or questions related to your specific task. However, in addition to our wide range of training we also offer one-on-one mentoring if you'd like to learn something in particular or need extra help.
Conference Room
Our conference room is now available for BDA members to rent - whether it's to meet with your clients, or strategize with your crew - the BDA conference room is only $15 an hour. The conference room features seating for 6, video projection and a 26" LCD monitor, DVD player, VGA connection for computer signals and sound system.
Professional 24" Photo Printer
BDA members now have exclusive access to our high-end, 24" photo printer, the HP 3200, made available to us by Digital2You. Members are able to print their own files - up to 24" wide by 100 feet long! Pricing is very low at $2 a square foot if you bring your own paper, or $4 a linear foot (24 inches wide multiplied by the length of the print) when using our paper roll. BDA offers training on color management and photographic output on a regular basis; however, please keep in mind that BDA is not a service bureau - this is a self-service option designed for people who are comfortable working with professional printers. Members will be charged for all the prints output on this printer and are responsible for managing thier own print quality with very limited support from our staff.
Digital Lounge
We invite you to hang out in our Digital Lounge! We've created this space so digital artists like yourself can have a place to call your own - enjoy our complimentary wireless signal while you relax on our comfy sofa and chairs. Get your work done while being in a supportive environment, with no pressure to buy anything! The hours of the digital lounge are Monday - Friday from 1pm to 9pm
Incubator Offices
Boulder Digital Arts has five incubator offices available for lease at affordable rates to creative professionals. They allow you to work in a truly digital environment - around other like-minded individuals, working in a variety of digital media - in a convenient Boulder location, with plenty of parking. Offices vary in size from 12'x12' to 12x18' and features:
- Complimentary wireless access, as well as ethernet connections
- Shared amenities, such as our Digital Lounge social space and modern kitchen
- Access to our wired conference room: a perfect place to meet with clients, potential clients, and collaborators; and where you can also screen work with it's own built-in video projection and sound system.
